Saying Goodbye

My boss is retiring and we had a little retirement party for her last night. We wanted her to think it was just our staff, but we invited the entire Sears family and many of her "kids" that used to work for her. Priscilla is an amazing woman and has been a big influence on my life and career for the 17 years that I have known her.

I'm putting together a scrapbook from the party pictures for a little happy for her, can't wait! She loves scrapbooking as much as I do.

Busy Weekend

Our weekend started on Friday by going to see Batman on its opening night. A great movie and a large tub of hot popcorn later and we walked over to Tuesday Morning to shop around. This place is full of housewares, furniture, and linens except everything is all thrown together and you have to dig around the chaos to find the good stuff. We left empty handed even after I scavenged through the window covering section. I have yet to find something for the window in my scrapbook nook, but I keep looking.

Saturday night we ordered McAlister's Deli and watched 3 more episodes of the Gilmore Girls. Thomas hasn't watched as many episodes as I have, but he's caught up fast. KittyBitty hates it when ignore her and watch televsion. She usually curls up in the magazine holder waiting for us to go to bed.

Thomas is packing now for a food show in Grapevine. When he found out that I was off Sunday, he invited me to go. I thought he wanted me to help set up for the food show, but evidently there is a casino night there Sunday evening. I must confess, I agreed to go only because we get to stay at the Gaylord Texan for the night!

Enjoy the weekend,
Deana

Latest Addiction...

Nikki gave me the complete seasons 1 and 2 of the Gilmore Girls and I'm soooo addicted. I even watched 3 episodes before heading off to work today!
Loving it!

Tantalizing Tuesday

I love Tuesdays. I love being off of work and being able to spend the day however I like. Today I spent it shopping and working in my scrapbook nook. My desk is a complete mess. I should really spend more time cleaning and organizing rather than creating. But the creating is so much more fun!

I also picked up my new glasses, and yes they are RED! I wanted to go with something fun and non-traditional! It was hard for me, but I did it.

One of my faves

Thomas got back from Little Rock today and we went to see the new Hancock movie at the Movie Tavern tonight. We had a fun night out and now I'm getting ready to work the rest of the weekend.

He had a surprise for me today too...he found some Diet Mountain Dew Code Red in Arkansas! This is my favorite, favorite soft drink and they quit selling it in Texas a few years ago. I even wrote to Pepsi asking them to bring it back, that's how much I love it!

Ring, Ring

After so many phone problems the last few weeks and having to resort to using an old phone that was laying in a drawer, I got my new Blackberry! I'm so used to my PDA style phone and I keep trying to touch the screen. At least I won't miss your calls anymore! Thomas is in Little Rock for a few days and I'm off to work. Enjoy the day!

Scrappin' Sisters

I have been scrapbooking for close to 10 years.  Every year when the Scrapbook Convention comes to Arlington, I invite my sister (she's not a scrapper) to join me for the day.  She typically declines but imagine my suprise when, this year, she said yes!  I was so excited and signed us both up right away.  We spent the day taking a few classes and shopping.  I enjoyed the day so much and had to laugh when later that day she said, "I can see why you enjoy this so much."  She's going to be a scrapper yet!

Can't forget all of the loot!

We're here

We're back from our vacation in Mississippi!  We spent most of our time visiting with family.  My cousin Michelle has a huge deck around her pool.  They had built it around this tree and the stairs lead you up into the branches.

While there, we headed down to the coast for some deep sea fishing.

Thomas thoroughly enjoyed the fishing and caught this Jack Crevalle, a game fish that we weren't allowed to keep.  Sure was a nice fish though!

The deep sea didn't settle too well with me and I was so relieved to be back on dry land.
