First Dentist Visit

Ladybug went for her first trip to the dentist today.  I made the appointment only yesterday so we didn't really even have a lot of time to psych her up for it.  In spite of that, she actually did really well.  It helped that the assistant was super sweet, I could tell that she really liked kids.  Buggy was on her best, charming behavior too.  I forgot to mention that she charmed everyone in the waiting room on our way in too.  I know I'm her mom and all moms probably say this, but she is so sweet and brightens everyone's spirits that she comes into contact with.  Today was definitely no exception.

So, we actually received a pretty good report.  She needs to brush better (no surprise there) and they recommended a kids toothpaste that cost as much as a half a tank of gas.  Seriously?

Yes, I bought it.  They saw me coming.

At 4 1/2 Years Old

* Ladybug loves "school" and her teacher Mrs. Amber.  I love how they have a schedule and daily routine....she thrives on that.

* She has been at the pool swimming like a little fish.  Wearing a little speedo vest, of course, has made her very confident in the water.  She even went down the slide finally too!  We have been working on that very quite awhile and made many trips up the ladder, only to come back down the ladder.

* Buggy continues her love of singing and she's learning many new songs at school.  Sometimes the words are mixed up, but still super cute.

* She knows the days of the week!  I was concerned about how to teach them to a 4 yr old and my cousin Angie taught us a song to help her learn them.  Perfect!  Now that she knows them, I quiz her on   them all the time.

* The best part of the last few months has been the lack of temper tantrums.  She's been a little more easy going when she doesn't get her way and has been minding us better.

* We're still working on the "ask nicely" as she continues to demand things.

* Sharing is still hard, working on that too.

* Her favorite shows lately are Team Umizoomi and Dora.  Although we're trying to watch more Disney so she can learn those characters before our trip.

* She loves puzzle books and figuring out patterns and doing "work" for her fuzzy friends as if she's the teacher.

* She weighs 31 pounds, wears a 3T-4T, size 8 shoe, and 38.5" tall.

Happy 4.5 sweet girl!

Ladybug Tent

Her ladybug tent is back and set up in the living room.   She absolutely loves playing and crawling in and out of it.  Hey, we even allowed her to sleep in it two nights last week! Today, we were chatting with Nanny on the phone when she took off into the tent, propped up the phone, and then read an entire book to her.

Celebrating 4 1/2

We celebrated 4.5 yesterday at the pool casually with a few friends.  The girls swam and swam and swam some more, it was so hard to get them out of the water for lunch and cake.  I think it was even harder to get them all together in one spot for a quick photo, but we tried!

Oh, and Ladybug finally went down that yellow slide, all by herself, after our fourth summer at the pool.  It only took a little party to make that happen....and seeing the other little girls going down the slide didn't hurt.

These two are sharing a special moment during the lighting of the candles.

Make a wish girls, here's to many, many more birthdays...half or not!

Great Week Ahead

I am sooo excited to be on vacation this week.  I have seriously not had a week off since January, so it's been long overdue.  Ladybug did go to school today, but only because I always pay the bill on Mondays so I'd have to go up there anyway.  We shall see if she makes it in the rest of the week or not as I have some fun things planned this week.

After I picked her up tonight, we ran a couple of errands.  The first was to drop off my photo entries at the fairgrounds for their photography contest at the North Texas State Fair.  I always enjoy going to see everyone's photos, so I decided to enter again this year after missing last year.  Buggy came inside with me and sang the Smurf song the entire time...I'm sure those ladies are going to be singing that happy little tune the rest of the evening!

We snapped this quick little photo with my phone on the way out, she's holding up her little happy meal Smurf and her little dog Izzie.  Her favorite friend seems to change on a daily basis, but she definitely always has a friend.
