Happy Birthday Ladybug!

It's hard to believe we are celebrating this sweet girl's 5th birthday today!  She has been counting down the days all month long on a little calendar stuck on the dishwasher.  Every day she would grab her pen and put a big X on the current day and then count how many were left until her big day.

This morning T and I prepared a little surprise and woke her up about 30 minutes earlier than normal.  She popped right up and was ready to celebrate with breakfast in bed as we sang happy birthday.

Our plan is to celebrate all day and perhaps even the whole week since her birthday party is this weekend!

Settling in on Sundays

T and I moved our letter to First Baptist Church this past Sunday and this was the little pic they took.  I thought it turned out kind of cute!  This was the church that I grew up in and it feels good to be back.  Ladybug loves it and is enjoying the kiddie activities including Sunday School and Choir.  We're thinking about enrolling her into gymnastics.  I have a feeling this is the beginning of the mom taxi for me!

My Crafty Valentine

Ladybug's been so excited as we've been talking about Valentine's Day and her little party at school.  We worked on her little cards this week and I was impressed that her attention span is so much better than it used to be.  We both love these little Stampin'Up! monster valentines.  I might even buy some more for next year!

She's Growing Up

You certainly cannot tell from this energetic smiling face, but Pre-K is wearing her out.  She comes home from school and falls asleep on the couch before we've even had dinner.  One night when T was out of town, I actually let her keep sleeping and didn't even make her take a bath.  I just carried her to bed.  We are learning to keep her busy so she won't fall asleep but sometimes there is just no fighting it.

The best part is….after dinner and bath, she'll just get up and tell us goodnight.  Then she will go and put herself to bed!

Fab Friday Challenge

We've been in our new house since December and we've just gotten all of our furniture and my craft room boxes cleared from the storage unit.  (I was not going to pay another month on the storage even if it meant losing my parking space in the garage.)

One of the must haves that we didn't get in this house was a fourth bedroom.  T's already moved his office into the 3rd bedroom so all of my craft haul is still in boxes.  I'm starting to have withdrawals!

We do have a plan though…the nice storage building in the back yard is going to become my new Scrap Shack.  But it's not going to happen without a lot of renovation first!  We have gotten the electricity run out there and it's finally working.  Some of the insulation has been installed but the weather has not been cooperating.  Not to mention my car will only haul two packs at a time so that means lots of trips to Lowe's for insulation, ha.  I'm hoping to get it finished this week and I can't wait to share pictures of my new space…someday.

Needless to say, making a card with your crafty supplies in boxes is a bit of a challenge.  I did have a box of goodies come from the new occasions catalog which is mainly what I used for this card.  You can see I did find that big box of washi tape!  Love that stuff.

I used the colors from the Fab Friday Challenge Blog.  I'm a lurker there but have not played along very often.  Definitely going to remedy that!
