Pretty in Pink

My little furbaby, Cricket, is a scratcher and mainly scratches me! Found Soft Paws and decided this is one of the coolest things ever.

Lots of fun colors....

but you know princesses and their pink.

Tuesday Randomness

*Our little momma bird had her babies! They are very cute and we sneak out often to see how much they've grown.

*The Mac computer is getting a new hardrive and should be ready today. Although I'm very sad about losing all the photos and bookmarks we had on there. Apple service is quite exceptional, they are even updating our out of date software as a courtesy.

*Baby referrals were announced for just two days, March 21 and 22, which was a small batch this time. We're a tiny bit closer. Come on March 29! 7 days to go!

Mac Attack

Ahh, my faithful readers (Hi Mom) I'm still alive and kicking. You know the reason (stupid work) and I hate to get off on a rant here so I'll stick with the other things that have happened as of late. T has been in San Antonio all week and let me just say that it's so hard working so much and dealing with all the daily chores! Ok, let me just get one little work rant in here...Tuesday I went in at 9 am and didn't leave work until 1:00 am the next day. I got home at 2 am, slept for about 2 hours...tried to, Cricket pounced on me and wouldn't let me sleep much. Plus, I was so concerned about getting up at 4:30 am in order to be back at work by 6 am. Whew, tough week! /rant off

He's back home now and usually I enjoy a few days home alone but then I'm ready for him to get back from a trip. This time was a little different, because I had some bad news. He has a Mac in the living room and it's so convenient to check mail and surf a little bit while watching TV or fixing dinner. My computer is upstairs and I don't spend much time up there in the summer because it's so hot. Well....I had to break it to him that I broke his computer. He's been working on it all night..on and off the phone with Apple. I feel terrible. Plus, I miss that computer!

Hope your weekend is great!

It's summer, gotta have sandals

Just got home from spending the whole day with Nikki. We had such a great time and it started with the fabulous brunch at Blue Mesa. Everything was so good and the Mimosas with never ending refills were the highlight! We're definitely going back on my next Sunday off with Thomas.

After brunch, it was shopping, shopping, shopping. We began at the Allen Outlet Mall and then ended up at the Stonebriar Mall in Frisco. Several hours and lots of packages later we noticed it was after 5:00 and decided to do dinner too. Just appetizers and dessert at the California Pizza Kitchen. Their cheesecake is to die for and so many to choose from. I teased Nikki for getting the same flavor that she always gets, hehe.

Remember our little sister box from this post? Nikki gave me a little happy today and it was a Yellowbox sandal box! I tore into it and found a fun pair of flip flops inside along with the plastic box. Aren't they just fun and happy? Love the quirky cow print and can't wait to wear these! (Plus, add them to my ever growing Yellowbox collection)

I am seriously addicted to these sandals and they are pretty hard to find. My first pair came from a fruit stand, of all places, in Mississippi! Here's a layout that I made about my obsession. The last time I stopped by our local flea market, I saw two vendors that had box after box of Yellowbox. I had to show great restraint that day!

T G I F ~

Finally a weekend off, after I make it through today...and a three day weekend at that! (I'm off through Monday) Thomas is leaving for San Antonio on Sunday and I considered going with him for a few days, but I realized that I just want to stay home. A 6 hour drive just doesn't sound like much fun. But a weekend off with no responsibilities sounds like great fun! The only plan I've made is to meet Nikki on Sunday for brunch.

Perhaps I'll have a chance to play with my new camera some too. Yes, my wild hair didn't get plucked and we came home the other night with a new SLR. What helped my case to get a new camera? A friend at the dinner party the other night was making the same comments about wanting a new camera. Oh yeah, we tag-teamed the husbands.~

Here's the first pic that I took with the new camera while assembling it.

Enjoy your weekend!

Life, always changing

Life has been in full swing these past two weeks. Working 6 days a week coupled with those days being long 10-12 hour days and having a commute is extremely tiring. It seems when my normal Wednesday off comes around, I honestly don't know what to do with myself. I'm in the go, go, go mode and it's hard to slow down and relax. I'm trying to do just that today. Relax, scrap, and catch up on a few things around the house.

Last summer we had a bird that nested in our hanging plant on the back porch. I noticed today that there's another mama bird nested near the same place. (minus the hanging plant if you recall my lack of a green thumb) She's having babies!

Guess who else is having a baby? Thomas' brother, Marshall, and his gf are expecting. We're going to be an uncle and auntie for the first time! Congrats to them both! We're excited and look forward to Ladybug having a cousin.

Guess what else Ladybug will have? A grandmother that can visit anytime! My sweet mother is retiring from work at the end of this month. We're happy for her as she gets ready for this new chapter in her life.

Thomas is getting off work early today...I told him I was going to the movies and he decided that he wanted to join me. I'm already getting texts asking if I am ready to go. Little does he know that I'm still in jammies. Ssshh. I better go get dressed, Harry Potter came out today!

Can't wait for this book

Dan Brown finally has a new book coming out September 15! I snatched up everything he'd written a few years ago and have anxiously waited since then for something new. The wait is over soon, I've already pre-ordered!
