From Easter

Just a quick little photo from Easter Sunday. She has wanted to wear this dress every Sunday since! She says she feels like a princess and I'm partial but she looks like a princess too.

At 6 Years Old

* Her current favorite shows are Doc McStuffins, Sheriff Callie and Kate and Mim-Mim.
* Ladybug continues to love school and we have no trouble getting her up and ready every morning.
* But, she gets in trouble at school for talking too much.
* She's learning to read like a champ and it amazes me that she can grab a book and start reading.
* Buggy knows all of her letters and numbers up to 100, but sometimes she draws the 3 or 7 backwards and I worry this isn't normal.
* She started gymnastics again and enjoys her new class here in New Boston.
* Ladybug wants to learn to knit because Sheriff Callie knits.  (How are we going to teach a lefty?)
* She loves playing with legos and stuffed animals and she continues to role-play quite often.
* She knows all the words to Taylor Swift's "Shake it Off."
* Wearing a 5 pant, 6 shirt, and a 9 shoe.

Happy Birthday Ladybug!

I teased Ladybug and told her that Daddy and I gave her a snow day for her birthday.  No school and lots of time playing in the fluffy stuff.  She had a blast!

We are now getting ready for her birthday party on Saturday, Lego style!  We can't wait.

Happy Chinese New Year!

We drove to Coco's last night just so we could get up early and meet Becky and Abby at the Crow Collection in downtown Dallas for their Chinese New Year celebration. We went to this event two years ago for just a few hours. It's really grown into a full day event now. The best part is everything is free, well except for the parking.

We made crafts and had their faces painted. They even had free photo booths! Love that! The dragon dance was my favorite part of the day and we made sure to feed our red envelopes to the dragon.

Ladybug is in the pink jacket:

Happy Gotcha Day!

Seriously, it's been 5 years…five!  Crazy.  This little Ladybug is the light of our lives.  We love her so much!  Tonight we celebrated with Chinese food for dinner and we gave Ladybug her little China gift. This year was a cute shirt and a little book (from China) for practicing drawing numbers.  We also shared the story of going to China and bringing her home.  I still can't talk about it, even after five years, without getting a little teary eyed.
