Woops

Thomas flew out to Albuquerque today and he was still piddling around the house this morning while I was trying to get ready for work which always throws me off schedule. I finally got home tonight around 11 and I thought it was odd that Princess Bella didn't meet me at the door and I was almost scared to come into the empty house. As I stepped inside and set my things down I didn't see her anywhere...but I could hear her. Bella was wailing...and very upset and hungry after being locked in my closet all day.

Poor thing, I feel terrible about it. She is not allowed in that closet and I can't figure out how she snuck in there when I wasn't watching. She's resilient and all fed now. Plus, I told her it was all Thomas' fault.~

3 years ago today...

We were excited about the news of our paperwork being officially "logged in."

At that time we had no idea we would be waiting this long for Ladybug.

But here we are...3 years and still waiting...

Tagged

I was tagged on Facebook to give 25 random facts about myself. I considered doing this and then I thought...25?! That's a lot of randomness! Then Cocoa Daisy put up the mid March challenge which was to scrapbook this concept instead of just making a list. One of my random facts is that I do love a good challenge. Here's my take:

Gardening 101

Whenever the weather warms up, it spurs a trip to the nursery to look at flowers and plants. I don't claim to have a green thumb whatsoever as it totally skipped me in the family gene. Both my parents can grow anything ... Why can't I? Last summer, I bought a gorgeous hibiscus tree for the patio with braided tree legs. I loved this little tree, paid a small fortune for it, and was given a one year growth warranty. Sadly, it passed away over the winter. I gardened in the backyard today and removed it from the pot to make room for a new little hibiscus bush. I'm marching back up to the retailer with my receipt later today to see if they will exchange the dead one! Perhaps they will honor their commitment or perhaps they will laugh at me and tell me to find a new hobby. We shall see.

Delivery truck

That little wild hair that I had last weekend...never did get plucked. We window shopped from one furniture store to another and ended up finding exactly what we were wanting. It was delivered on Friday!

I'm now going to rationalize it and say we needed to do this before picking up our little ladybug from China. After Ladybug gets here, I have a feeling she'll be on the receiving end of all our wild hairs!

Happy Monday!

Good mail day

I love coming home from work and finding out it was a good mail day. Today was one of those rare days when the mailbox was bulging with goodness:

1) A great new pair of denim shorts that I ordered online for spring

2) New Mary Jane shoes from Shoes for Crews - a girl's gotta have happy feet

3) An envelope full of 7gypsies scrapbooking goodness courtesy of Sande Krieger's giveaway on her blog!

Woohoo! It's fun to win something!

I scream, you scream

What is it about the chocolaty ice cream cone goodness of a Dairy Queen dipped cone? Is it because there are quite possibly only a handful of these ice cream geniuses around? Think about it....do you know where your nearest DQ is when you have a craving? The best part is driving home from a work meeting in Allen, TX and passing by DQ out in the middle of nowhere totally unexpectedly! Oh yeah, whipped right in and ate this beauty for dinner. It's all Nikki's fault. She did this to me.

I'm sick today, not sure how I caught this cold but my guess it's because of the weather. After being in the 80's for a few days, the temperature dropped again and added some rain for good measure. Plus, that meeting that I had in Allen was outside all day in the wind. Icky, snotty, sickly yuck.

Princess Bella has been at the vet for two days and I'm having withdrawals without her around. She had an appointment yesterday to have her little claws taken out and they kept her overnight. Thomas is bringing her home today after work.

WATCHMEn, WATCHMENOT

We made it to the movie with only a moment to spare before it started. I asked the gal at the window if it was sold out and she said, "There's over 300 seats left." I should have taken that as a sign, but I didn't. We sped into the theater right as the previews were fading out.

About two hours into the movie, Thomas leaned over and asked, "Is this almost over?" Ha ha, I noticed he was either fidgety or about to fall asleep. I was restless too, but we'd already been there for two hours so I wanted to see how it ended. Another hour later and we were finally leaving the theater. The movie was TERRIBLE. Way too long. Way too scattered. Way too much nudity.

The rest of our weekend was much better....although it went by way too fast.

Give me Weekends!~

Ahhhh, the weekend is finally here. By some strange alignment of the stars, Thomas and I both have the same weekend off without any responsibilities. Although, I did made a long "to do" list before he got home from Little Rock. Mostly errands and little things that are hard to get done when I'm working a lot of hours. The good news, I've already crossed off 3 things on the list!

We were going to find something wild and crazy to do today but we've decided to just go see the new Watchmen movie and do some furniture shopping. I see a new sofa in my future, but I'm hoping that this wild hair will go away. Make it go away!

I did this little layout for a CocoaDaisy challenge:

Enjoy your weekend!

What's up Wednesday

Thomas is on his way to Little Rock for a few days. He hasn't traveled for work much this past month, but it looks like that is all about to change.

Princess Bella is sprawled out asleep on the ottoman, maybe because she woke me up pouncing around at 5:30 am this morning.

I'm attempting to muster some energy to go to work...my 10th day straight. I have not felt much work-life balance lately...it's been all work.

I'm loving this little happy that my sweet MIL, Margaret, gave me for my birthday. I've been searching for one since Christmas, but never had any luck. Thomas hung it before he left. It's awesome!

Tech-nified

Thomas sent me this little comic from Tom Armstrong’s “Marvin” feature. This particular comic is about Ming Ming who is Marvin’s cousin - adopted from China.

I got a kick out of this...mainly because we're big kids here. We're always playing the Wii or the DS or computer games or we're on our Blackberry. We have a Webkins too! (I catch Thomas playing that one a lot.)
