Double High Fives

A few weeks ago at our little garage sale, Bug happened to saw Lori giving me and Coco double high fives after selling something that we were very happy to get rid of. She promptly marched right over to Lori wanting her own double high five!

We met for dinner tonight and as you can see, there're still at it!

2 Years + 2 Months

*The best part of this month's report is there hasn't been as many temper tantrums. They are very few and far between now, thank goodness. I'd like to think it's our elite parenting skills at work.~

*Ladybug's little language continues to flourish especially with 3-word sentences. Some of her favorites are: Thank you Mama, Bless You Mama, See ya Mama. The thank you's are definitely abundant and I'm very happy about that. I have also noticed that when she wants me to go somewhere with her she will tell me so.

*She's learning possession words. Just this morning when she was brushing her teeth, she grabbed my glasses from the counter and said Mama's glasses and proceeded to try them on. She loves to hand us the remote or cell phone (when we accidently leave it within reach) and she'll say Mama or Dada. I've also heard the word Mine a few times from her as well with regards to her toys or drink.

*Speaking of reach. Uhh, everything has to be away from the edges of the tables, counters, etc. She'll find it and move it or proceed to play with it. This has been a huge transition for us.

*Buggy's also becoming a little climber. She's learned to climb onto the dining chairs and into her high chair by herself, that was scary the first time I saw it happen. I allow her to climb a little bit more than T does, but he doesn't like it at all.

*She's weighing in at 25.4 pounds 32.2 inches tall. Her little tush is still in a size 3 diaper and wearing 24 months clothing. I love those teeny tiny size 4.5 feet and you can see these size 5 are too big around the ankles...that strap sticking out might trip somebody!

You can see last month's chair photo here.

To Dye for Easter Eggs~

We set up a little egg dying station for Buggy tonight and had the best time, even T was writing and playing with the colors. I wasn't too keen on the idea of her hands getting all colored up, so I did most of the dying and she worked on the decorating. I had found some really cute stickers for her to use.

But then she decided it would be more fun to squeeze an egg until it cracked! The next thing I know she's chomping down on it yolk and all.

Fun, fun, fun....can't wait for tomorrow.

Girls Night Out

We had a little dinner party tonight with the girls: Coco, Rebecca, Nana and Ladybug. All we could talk about was how much fun we had when Rebecca was as little as Buggy. (Coco was her Nanny for many years.) She's an all grown up sweet young lady now.

Only one thing could have made this night better....cake balls.

Coco promised us, but didn't deliver!

Cheesy Grins

Ladybug's never really paid much attention to my camera while I'm snapping photos and sometimes she won't even look at me. She has learned over the past few weeks that I like for her to smile and more often than not, I'll hear her sweet little voice say cheeeese. I've noticed that she has also decided that sometimes she doesn't want to smile or pose for Mama's camera. When that happens, it's a no with a squirm-wiggle-run-away!

Today when she discovered these tiny chairs and saw me pull out the camera, the cheese came right out. Can you see it?

Am I cute, or what?

Nana came to stay for a few days to help with Buggy since T is out of town all week and Coco has extra work stuff going on.

We spent the day together today and started out with Bug's 2 year old well-baby doctor visit this morning where she received a really good report. Then it was rush back home to wait for the glass guys to repair the windows.

We're still sitting outside waiting...and they better hurry....some of us need a little nap. /yawn

A little glimpse...

...into our Tuesday morning. This is the one day that I work a late shift and get to spend the morning with Ladybug. She was in rare form today and threw the baby doll out of the stroller so she could climb in.

Sunday Funday

We tried to visit the Easter Bunny today, but she did not want any part of that. Waving to him safely from a distance is all she would do. No, I didn't make her sit in his lap...this time.

But we did take her out for a walk to our little wall for a few photos.

Here she was last June at the same little wall. Definitely a whole head taller and finally a little bit of hair!

Picnic at the Park

It's a gorgeous day outside and perfect for another Easter Egg hunt.

We were looking for a prize winning egg! These eggs had little plastic frogs and flower rings in them.

After the hunt we had a little picnic in the park and played on the playground. She was fearless on the slide today!

Guess what~

* The washer is fixed, hooray! With the way my luck has been lately, I kind of thought that part wasn't going to work and we would be out another 2 weeks. Sooo happy that my luck is turning around.

* Guess what the washer repairman told me....that I was using too much soap! He said, "So, whatever you are using...use about half of that." Then he put the washer on a 3 hour cycle to get rid of the soap. Dude, we have mountains of laundry...we can't wait 3 hours!?!

* Tonight we had a night off without Buggy. I spent some of my freebie working late and it helped me to remember how I used to always work late.

* Guess what we did with the rest of our evening. We ordered pizza and did, you guessed it, laundry.

* So, a couple of weeks ago I made of fun of T because he got a jury summons. (He went one day this week but didn't get picked.)

* Guess what I received in the mail today? Yep, a jury summons.

* T's always either traveling to exotic places or running around the DFW area enjoying nice lunches. Sometimes he teases me and sends me a picture of his yummy lunch.

* Guess what I did after receiving that one? Snapped a quick photo of my TV dinner and hit reply.

We're silly, I know. Lunch bag is from Thirty-One.

Color Me Happy

Ladybug's finally showing an interest in the crayons...but it's only when we're out to dinner and she's confined to a chair.

She won't really touch them at home, she'd much rather be in the yard or sandbox.

I wonder if she'll feel the same way when it's H O T hot outside.

Deana

Close Call

We woke up Monday in the wee hours of the early morning around 12:30 to Ladybug on the baby monitor crying, screaming and wailing. She hasn't done this in quite awhile and I couldn't imagine what was wrong.

T went up to check on her and I laid in bed for a moment or two hearing it begin to rain. Suddenly, the wind started whipping against the house and hail pounding on the windows. Now I am frightened and well aware that I should not be laying in my bed next to three huge windows.

I jumped up and ran into the hall and met T with Bug coming down the stairs. We stood there huddled up for a few minutes waiting and listening.

*Crack* The sound of broken glass from the window in Bug's room! Her crib is very close to that window and I am so thankful that she wasn't in it when that window had broken. God is good!

Sleepy girl watching us clean up the mess. We were up until 2:00 cleaning and then up with Buggy until 3:30 trying to get her to go back to sleep. She's a creature of habit so moving her crib out of the room and onto the landing was not okay with her...she's been restless the past couple of nights.

There was more damage outside than I had anticipated, didn't even realize it until I looked through some pictures that T had taken. Sadly, the little playhouse is now swiss cheese:

We are very thankful that everyone is okay!

Eggstravaganza

Ladybug went to her first real Easter Egg Hunt over the weekend. T took her without me since I sadly had to work all weekend. I'm pretty sure I was not in the best mood since I felt like I was definitely missing out. When I got home I made him give me the play by play at least three times!

The soccer field was full of eggs, snack bags, and little cereal boxes.

She's pointing to the eggs patiently waiting for the fire truck to sound the horn.

It's finally go time and all the kids take off. She sees them running and takes off as well. Just when she's bending over to pick up a treat, another little boy swoops in and grabs it! Buggy realized real fast that she had to be quicker!

All the treats are gone in about 6 minutes flat, she did get a nice little basket full. Perhaps, she needs a bigger basket!

A sugary sweet treat to eat.

eFlash

We discovered an awesome ipad app in the itunes store for Buggy. It's called eFlash and it's like baby flash cards on steroids! Am I the only one who didn't know about this?!

She loves to sit and watch the pictures and say all the names of foods and animals. There's also an option for letters, numbers, and colors too!

It's FREE people, if you're an ipad user. Although, I did see an option for the iphone that you can purchase.

That's Coco getting her started. Today I noticed when she was going through the "cards" with T, she'd hit the next button all by herself.

Conversation with a 2 yr old...

Me: "Can you say? Outside, Mama, Outside"

Ladybug: "Pweease."

How do I say no to that?

Happy Weekend,

Egg-start

Remember all the candle blowing practice we did before Ladybug's 2nd birthday party?!

We thought we'd get a head start with the egg hunting too. I hid a few this morning before getting her up and I'm delighted that she went right for them. I loved how she would say egg after finding each one and then place it right into her basket.

We're practicing so we can attend one of the community egg hunts coming up. I'm so excited that she's walking for this Easter!

Bird Eggs

Some new little mama birds have moved in again this spring. They just keep re-using the same little nest year after year. T climbed on a ladder with Ladybug so that she could see the little eggs. I can't wait to hear these little guys tweeting.
