Clean up, Aisle 4

Last night, we're relaxing and watching a little TV before bedtime and we hear this really loud KABLOOM. Thomas and I looked at each other and wondered what was going on. I honestly thought someone had fired a gun or run into our house with their car! He thought our backyard fence had crashed and finally gave way.

Well, after doing a little detective work we go back to our closet and notice we can't push the door open. Hmmm, are those clothes on the ground?

Why yes, yes they are. My entire main closet rod had somehow worked its way out of the wall! Clothes were everywhere and covered in white sheetrock dust.

It was not fun having to clean all that up, but there is a bright side. I'm gaining custom closet hardware from The Container Store on monday!

Happy Weekend,

Our day was fun, fun, fun

I convinced T to work from home yesterday since it was my day off and he'd just gotten home the night before after being in Chicago for almost a week.

Our first stop was the swimming pool. It was a good day to go because it was H O T, hot! We are so lucky to have this great pool within walking distance. I think we've gone more in the past week than we've ever gone having lived here for almost 6 years.

After swimming, it was time for a nap for Bug and a working lunch for others. I fixed salads, who eats chili when it's 90 degrees outside? This guy does:

After lunch, a quick trip to the grocery store. We were waiting in line forever...and what do you do when the line's not moving and your Ladybug gets cranky? You have some stacking fun.

Lastly, we propped Ladybug up to be measured. This was her first measurement which she cooperated for just a split second.

After this fun day, it's back to work tomorrow for another 6 days straight. Prayers needed.

4 months

Ladybug's been with us for 4 months now. Why does the time seem to be flying by?! She's supposed to be my 4 month old baby but she's growing up into a toddler way too quickly. Here's a few changes from last month:

She's dancing anytime there's music playing. A cute little boogie sway that moves her from head to toe!

Ladybug has added just one new word, night night. That's with both of us coaching her to say cat, Coco, bless you, thank you, and so many others. (I feel like she should be saying more words.)

Although, I see that she is actually understanding what some words mean. T was giving her a bottle one evening and afterwards she said night night because she was ready to go to bed. I can ask her for a kiss and she'll lean her face into mine. Love that.

She's waving hi and bye to others.

Unbelieveably she's mobile now! Not walking and not crawling, but she's scooting around. It's so funny because she is only scooting around backwards. One night we laughed as she scooted around the entire dining table...backwards!

Her new favorite food is grilled cheese but she still loves those little goldfish.

We're having fun and she's doing great!

We're officially official

In that manila envelope is the last step of our adoption process!

It's impossible to believe that we have actually finally completed every little thing. But it's true...I have the judge's order that certifies the adoption and states her name is officially changed too!

This has been weighing heavily on my mind to get completed. I thought it was going to be more expensive than it was or else I would have already taken care of it. Silly me! Fact is, it would have cost more if we hadn't figured out how to do it ourselves. It also helps to have friends in the right places! Thanks Jill, you rock!

And because two pictures are always better than one...

Enjoy the Ride

I rearranged my entire schedule...

for LOST tonight!

Ladybug and I have been busy with chores today, trying to get done before the event begins at 6:00 p.m.

When I trudge upstairs with a load, I pile her in too.

She enjoys the ride.

First Swim of the Season

We finally made it out to the pool with our brand new floaty. Ladybug was a little apprehensive at first especially because the water was pretty chilly. But once she was in, she didn't want to get out! She really is a little water bug.

Oh and compared to her, I obviously need a little more sun on my pasty white skin.~

Goldfish Party

It's been a long week after working 6 days straight and I was so happy to be off today.

This is our favorite daily routine...goldfish!

A few random thoughts ....

Her outfit was a gift from Mimi and it has a cute bow on the butt. She has such a tiny little butt. (still in size 2 Pampers)

I noticed today that our pool was finally open! We're going swimming and Ladybug needs a floatie...putting it on the list.

It was my turn for dinner tonight...so I stopped and picked up tacos after work. I fed Buggy a whole container of refried beans. She couldn't get enough of them and I work Sunday so T gets to clean up. Ha! Do other couples do this too?

I watched Grey's and Private Practice on dvr tonight and only cried through PP. Why did Dale have to die? He was a cutie.

T is traveling A LOT this week. Tuesday-Wednesday somewhere and then leaves Friday for Chicago for an entire week. He gets mad when I forget where he's going...but he goes a lot and my brain is full of other important things. Like trying to remember to buy a floatie.

Scrap Happy Mini

It's so hard to find the time to do anything scrappy related! Work is definitely getting in my way of enjoying several of the things that I used to love. (I haven't read a book since the plane ride on the way to China.) I sometimes have trouble finding the time to update my blog too. Thanks for your patience. I enjoyed it so much more when I was at home with Ladybug every day! I want a do-over!

Although, I did steal a quick 30 minutes to throw a mini album together.

Papers and design are from Rusty Pickle.

It was a special day

Fresh pink roses from the backyard. Homemade pizza. Surprise portraits of Ladybug from T. (He can keep a good secret, I had no idea.) So special.

Happy 1st Mother's Day

We hope you have a great 1st Mother's Day!

When you smile, your eyes disappear

I took Ladybug out for a little photo shoot yesterday. We purchased this little outfit while in China and I'm excited that it finally fit her and that we were able to capture a few photo memories.

I'm also excited for the weekend!

Enjoy yours,
Deana

I'm in Trouble~

She managed to open the cabinet door and wrap her hands around a big glass bottle of *cough* before I pried it out of her hands.

I think it's time to shop for cabinet locks.

Any recommendations?

Out and About

Today was the first Saturday that I've had off since I went back to work so T and I made the most of it!

Our first stop was the bookstore to sell back the books left over from the garage sale back in March. I was pretty happy with the $22 bucks we received. Guess who was there when we walked in? Stormtroopers! Immediately after I took this picture, Ladybug started crying. That silly Stormtrooper pointed his gun at her!

We walked around the square in downtown Denton and stopped by a comic book store. Evidently today was a very popular day for the comic book industry....Free Comic Book Day!

Lunch at Chili's. Bug wanted to touch our waitress every time she stopped by our table, either grabbing her belt or her notepad. And boy did she squeal during lunch too! Even with me shoveling it in her mouth as fast as I could.

Our last errand was at GameStop. I've had a bag of games in my trunk to sell back for at least 6 months. T made out good on that deal, but Bug was a little tired and cranky. He'll have to find time to go back another day to find a new game. Not that he has time to play anymore. Hehe
