A Last Hurrah

Today was my last day working in Hurst. On my way home I took a slight detour and enjoyed my favorite snow cone from Bedford Snowball !! Do you remember my plea from last summer to go try this place? It's spectacular!

It was no holds barred today when I ordered my favorite flavor, Nectar of the God's, with ice cream in the bottom and gummy bears on top!

Ahh yes, this is the only thing I'm going to miss about working in Fort Worth.

I'm saying hello to:

*12 mile commute Wahoo!

*an extra 7.5 hours per week

*that's an extra 30 hours a month!

*saving lots of money on gas and tolls

*less stress (maybe)

*more work-life balance

*time to spend on scrapbooking and reading

*more Ladybug time!

I'm so happy that I'll now be working much closer to home! I start August 1!

At 17 months

We've been a family for 6 months now...can't believe it has already been half of a year. Time is passing by at warp speed and she's growing like a weed!

The biggest change from this month to last is her vocabulary, she has finally learned new words. Plus, they aren't easy words, they are harder words that have two different syllables! Yay! She's saying baby and puppy. Also, we sing Old MacDonald had a Farm and she sings along with the E-I-E-I-O! It's so cute.

Ladybug is nodding her head yes and a lot more often than no. But, she still shakes no when she's done eating or when she knows she is doing something she isn't supposed to.

Earlier in the month she started giving her own kisses to us on the lips. Sure, we always get the kisses when we ask for them. It's lovely when she does it on her own. I also watched her playing one day and she leaned over and gave her Violet doll a kiss on the mouth. Awwwww.

She can unscrew things now....like the Cheerios canister and Coco's eye makeup remover. That was almost a mess!

Ladybug is picking up small toys or a discarded makeup compact and holding them up to her ear. She will babble and say hi as if she is talking on the phone. Then she hands us the "phone" wanting us to talk too. Cute!

She has two new teeth that have popped through, both on the top, for a total of 6 teeth now.

Bug's wearing size 2-3 diapers and 12 month clothes. Her tiny size 2 foot is growing and we won't be able to squeeze into those 2's much longer.

Happy Birthday Ladybug!

Scrap Happy

Yes! I made another layout!

Perhaps someday I will get caught up....

There's just not enough hours in the day.

But I'm trying to "create" some extra hours...

and guess what?

Maybe I've been able to do exactly that!

Happy, exciting news coming....SOON!!

Expect the unexpected

On our drive to do a few errands last night I handed Ladybug the Cheerios canister (to hold and shake) and thought to myself...One day she's going to be able to get that open. Well, I never dreamed it would be today....

A few minutes later I turned around and noticed her mouth just a chewing away and her little hand down in the canister! She figured out a little too easily how to screw that top off!

Camera Card Crash

I've been so upset for days and I just couldn't bring myself to make a post. I've also been working a lot this past week and didn't have time to figure out what happened. But since I was off today, I was able to sit down and go through 3 SD cards to search for all of my photos taken since the beginning of this year. That's right, every single photo was MIA including the China photos. Needless to say, I have been just sick with worry.

I noticed this last Friday when I picked up my camera to take a photo of Ladybug dancing to Jack's Big Music Show...that's one of her favorite new shows. Well, the camera wouldn't work and said card error. Very strange...and I needed to investigate.

I figured out today that somehow T accidently placed all of our China photos from both cameras onto one card and because of that my camera won't read the card. (The computer can read the card just fine though. Whew.) Unfortunately, everything else that I had taken since China has been lost. /sad face

My plan had been to use the same card through this year and pop in a new one for 2011. I now have a brand new card to use for the last part of this year and I'll have to share with you some silly cell phone photos for now!

Baby Bug Steps

Make sure your sound is on....Marissa is a little scared of the walker getting away from her, but gets distracted by the cat and says "HI!" to Candy Kitty as she runs by.

She's sneaky

and I only turned my head for a moment.

She hid behind the side table, pulling the kleenex box down and emptied it.
When I found her she just tried to stuff them back in!~

Happy 4th

We had a fun, fun evening on the 4th! I did have to work all day but raced home afterwards with a big surprise for Bug...sparklers! She thought she could grab them out of my hands, but luckily I was quicker than she was. We played out in the front yard with a few smoke bombs and fire breathing paper sticks too. (No idea what they were really called, but they were potent!) She just sat right on the step in front of our house and watched everything with amazement. The smiles and squeals were priceless.

After our mini fireworks show it was time to drive over to the July Jubilee in Little Elm for the mega fireworks show. I really thought the noise might scare her, but she loved watching the people and the pretty fire raining in the sky.

I love how making special holiday memories is so much more fun with our Ladybug.

I spy

a pretty pink bow.

and it's hanging on by only a few wisps of hair!

I have vowed not to trim it anymore....until it reaches her shoulders. Let's see how long that lasts.

In her heart

Ladybug's last day with Nanny. I'm coaching her to wear her sunglasses the cool way indoors on top of her head while Nanny was coaching her to say Nana. We can add it to the list of words. Yay!

She also pats her little chest when we ask her where Nanny is.

Cute...so much cuteness.
