Happy Halloween

We made yummy cupcakes today and hung out with Nanny and G-dad.

We "dressed up" for trick or treating and decided to be Ladybug Catchers. He was in charge of the catch and I was in charge of the cage.

Mmmmm, candy...

She's trying to let all of the ladybugs out!

Checkin' out the loot!

Feeling all Halloweeny

Can I tell you how excited I am about Halloween? It's another first for us and we've got a lot of fun planned. Can't wait, fun fun fun!

First thing on my list is to attempt to make these Halloween cupcakes!

Aren't they fabulous? These were made by Coco for Coffee N Cream. She is a cupcake decorator extraordinaire and loves her job as a pastry chef there!

I already made this candy pumpkin bracelet and wore it as a fun, little happy to work today!

I think I'll wear it to work tomorrow too. I found the idea for this here.

Enjoy your spooky weekend,
Deana

Won't you ride in my little red wagon?

Doesn't everyone take their cat for a walk? Hmmm, maybe not.

Coco's cat, Candy-Kitty, is more like a princess and she'd rather ride in the wagon than walk...

and ride she did...all the way from our house to the school playground.

A few people did a noticeable double take after they realized it was a cat instead of a dog.

Too funny.

I honestly didn't believe Coco when she told me that Candy-Kitty liked to ride. We might put her in the stroller next time and let Ladybug push her around a bit.~

The Big 2 0

It can't already be time for another monthly photo...it just can't. October has flown by so quickly and I'm not ready for this.

I'm not ready for Ladybug to be 20 months old. 20 months!

She was still a baby when the months ended in 'teen. Now she's definitely an inquisitive, let me do it my way, catch me if you can toddler!

20 month notes:

*She's wearing 12 month tops but needs 18 month bottoms...only because her legs are long. Her little shoulders are very narrow though.

*Her feet are a size 3...still tiny. We graduated to size 3 diapers too. I have no idea how much she weighs, we have an appt this week.

*She wants to feed herself. She wants to put her shoes and/or socks on herself. She also tries to put her on her pajamas. She's just not successful at any of the above by herself. It's very fun to watch though.

*Ladybug chatters away. Some of the new words that she has learned this past month are: go, more, thank you, bath, bless you, come in. This is the first month that I haven't actually written them down! We've been trying to teach her "trick or treat" but it's not going too well. She mumbles something, but it's way off.

*She's walking very well now. In fact, she's worn out a pair of shoes already. I didn't think that was ever going to happen. She also loves to try to go down the sidewalk steps by herself and more often than not, she's tumbling down.

*Climbing...she's going to be a little monkey. You'll see a couple of outtakes from our photo session below.

*I can see a few differences from this month to last. Her hair is longer, yay! I think her legs are longer too. You can see last month's photo here.

Will LED's make your eyes bleed?

I do worry about the long term effects of bright LED flashlights...

but this Ladybug loooves to play with them.

She's definitely going to be my "gadget girl."

Pumpkin Parade~

I'm not sure what T is more excited about...the brand spanking new fence with the extra gate to go into the front yard! Or the pumpkins that we jacked from the pumpkin patch.

Ok, ok we really didn't jack them.

We were the ones who got jacked because they cost a small fortune!

And also while we're talking today...let's talk about how confused the little Ladybug is.

She now thinks our front yard is a pumpkin patch and you're supposed to pick up the pumpkins and move them around!

Ack! There she goes...

Oops...

Ladybug has been pulling the spice drawer open and close at Nanny's all day.

She was having a fun time!

I didn't know there was a bad lid on the vanilla extract until it was TOO LATE.

She shook that bottle until it was empty!

Now it's clean up time...

Fun at the Lake

We've had an amazing few days at Lake D'arbonne. The cabins that we stayed in were fantastic...and air conditioned. It was so cool when I left the Dallas area that I brought us both jackets and long pants but we never needed them, it was sunny and hot.

Angie showed us how to make Fried Oreos. I was a little apprehensive but they were yummy with powdered sugar and vanilla ice cream.

Ladybug played with all of her cousins...non stop. She was so excited to be around other children. She and Annalee are big time snuggle buddies.

The Grands gave Bug a surprise before we left for the lake. It was a cute little Radio Flyer pedal-less trike. She tore up the hardwood floors in the cabin on that brand new scooter!

She followed Luke around and learned a few climbing moves. She also liked his little car.

Of course, Luke wanted to try out her trike as well. He was taking it for a test drive and then she climbed aboard with him!

I bet she climbed up and down these stairs 1000 times.

She also "ran free" quite a bit during this little camping trip. I'm afraid I'm going to have a hard time reigning her back in when we get home.

Loaded up

Vacay started today! Bug's backpack is so full that she's already tipped over!

She and I are headed to Lake D'arbonne for a few days to spend time with family. Luckily not in a tent, but a nice plush cabin. That's my kind of camping.

Although, I'm sick, sick, sick with this snotty yuckiness and I'm thinking we should probably stay home. But we've been planning this adventure for months.

I'm going to just push through and enjoy the fun times.

Muffin tin meals

I've seen the muffin tin meal idea floating around for a few years, even when Ladybug was just a glimmer of hope. This has always been something that I wanted to do with her "someday." Last night it was just us for dinner since T had another golf tournament. I thought it was a great time to pull out the muffin tin! Her little meal was filled with crackers, cheese, ham, apples and craisins. I noticed that she chowed down on the cheese first!

I can't wait to do this again and again. Perhaps with foods that are all the same color or foods that all start with the same letter.

Oh, the possibilities...
