Sunday Update
Thomas snuck up on me at work the other day...he just wanted to make sure I was still alive. Luckily, he had a cool, refreshing drink in his hand for me. Today is day 7 of this 16 day stretch.
We enjoyed the TRA dinner banquet (T's work) last night at The Joule Hotel in Dallas. The food was delicious and from all of their vendors. I'm learning more and more about food industry lingo.
T left for Orlando this morning. I saw him packing shorts and his favorite Hawaiian shirt, so I'm pretty sure he'll get to have some fun on this business trip.
Oh, and he also took my camera. I am feeling a little lost without it.

The good, the bad, and the ugly
Exciting News:
Baby referrals were announced for those logged in through March 20, 2006! They completed another SIX days! Our log in date is March 29, 2006, so we are just a mere 9 days away!! I am beyond excited, but I'm also feeling a little scared. We've got a lot to do. Oh, and that paperwork that I thought we were done with....we're doing do-overs. We're doing it all including having physicals done tomorrow plus we have to update our home study, yet again. Third time's the charm.
Here's a couple of scrappy pages that I completed last week when I was allowed a day off. The bad thing is, there won't be any more days off for a while.
Work is rearing it's ugly head again. After yesterday, I foresee two weeks worth of 70 hour work weeks. I pray that I can make it through.

Family Time
We had a wonderful weekend with the family. Saturday night we celebrated Mom's birthday with homemade pizza, cake, and presents. Nikki cooked for all of us the entire weekend and everything was so delicious. She even made homemade sauces and dough for the pizza, yum!
For our Father's Day lunch, she fixed lasagna...again, the homemade sauce was to die for.
Our little shopping trip meant Nikki spending big bucks on a new TV. Here she is looking all smug about a purchase she's been planning for 2 years.
After Fry's, we stopped at IKEA for the new TV stand. Thomas and Dad spent hours assembling and I spent seconds successfully knocking the fabulous chocolate cake on the floor. You can see the now upside down crumbled cake on the counter. So sad...that was good cake.
I love my sweet family; we always have so much fun being together.

Woops
Thomas dropped our new little kitten off at the vet yesterday for a quick checkup. Imagine our surprise when we found out that she's actually a female kitten! We so wanted her to be...can't have enough princesses in this house.
The funny thing is, we studied and did some research. See this picture? I mean, how hard is it to compare this picture to your kitten's little behind?
Evidently for us, pretty hard to do. We had given her a boy's name, but now she's been renamed to something cute and sassy.
Meet Cricket...
She's a sweet little ball of fur.

H O T - HOT
It's been so hot the past couple of days. It finally feels like summer! The air conditioning went out at work yesterday right as I was about to leave. I'm hoping that it's fixed today, otherwise it will be a miserable day. Plus, if I can make it through today, I'm off for the next two days. No traveling, no errands, and nothing pressing so I'm going to relax and enjoy those two days. Perhaps I'll even manage to power scrap! I've only had time to make this one simple page since I've worked so much the past week.

New furbaby
This past weekend at the Stiles family get together at Aunt Barbara's we saw kittens everywhere. They were all cuddled up together, so cute and tiny, and I wanted to take them all home! I convinced Thomas to let us take just one and we spent the rest of the afternoon deciding on the cutest one.
This is the little guy that traveled home with us in a box. He didn't have a name for several days and after I joked about naming him after a scrapbooking embellishment, he ended up being called Chip. (for chipboard) I tend to call him Chipper or Chiply or ChipChip. I think it's going to stick.
Princess Bella doesn't like him at all. I didn't think she would be so territorial since she came from a shelter, but she has hissed and growled at him every day. She has not been fitting into our lifestyle very well and we've tried everything to make it work. I won't go into what she's doing, but sadly I'm afraid she might be finding a new home soon.
Happy Friday,
Deana

Shopping trip
I spent the whole day with Nikki today. We met around 10 am this morning for a quick breakfast and then we spent the entire rest of the day shopping. Two shopping malls, Sam Moon, Target, and several other shops later and I'm all shopped out. After skipping lunch, we ended up at the Purple Cow for dinner.
I finally got to visit Anthropologie for the first time. Loved so many things there, especially this little bird lamp...
and this clock made out of post it notes!
T's still in Shreveport for one more night. I have time to hide all my purchases!

You still have time!

Hello June
I can't believe it's already June. This year has been flying by so quickly. It's going to be another busy month, too! This weekend is the Great American Scrapbook Convention in Arlington. I'm not sure how many years (at least 10) they've been doing this convention, but I haven't missed a year yet. Remember Nikki going with me last year? She pooped out on me this year. I can't seem to convert her into a scrapbooker!
I have the weekend off coming up and after the convention we're headed to Temple to see Thomas' family. I'm hoping I'll get some creativity time in my MIL's scrap room. She has everything and more! Oh and guess what finally arrived yesterday? My delicious May Cocoa Daisy Kit! The original package never made it to me, but they were so nice and shipped me another one.
Thomas was outside grilling chicken for dinner and I sat on the patio ripping into the box, oohhing and aahhing over every paper and embellishment. I can't wait to play with it! Sadly, I'm headed to work for now.
